I spent a week in Victoria recently while attending the EdMedia 2013 conference.  I really felt that I had the chance to get to know the city better during this visit, as I spent the evenings exploring a little more then I have had the chance to in the past.  On a couple evenings I ran the 260 metre high Mount Douglas trail which is just north of the city and provides  lovely views of the city and Salish Sea.

I also had a chance to explore Victoria’s many, many lovely restaurants dining at; the amazing Prima Strada pizzeria (two visits :) ; Rebar Modern Food for vegetarian; Pink Bicycle a gourmet burger bar; Ebizo sushi bar; a pretty amazing Pierogi Truck; and Pagliacci’s Italian restaurant.  Yes, I ate me way through Victoria but coupled with busy days at the conference and mountain running or beach walking in the evenings I did not feel too bad about it.

Concurrent to the conference was the Victoria Jazz Festival and so I also managed to catch a couple of the free shows in the city square.
