Last weekend I took a trip to the west coast of Vancouver Island to show a visiting friend around Tofino and Ucluelet. We thoroughly explored the Pacific Rim National Park, taking every turn off from the highway to explore the many beaches, rainforest hikes and vistas. My favourite spots were at Florencia Bay and at the Spruce Fringe trail, both had breathtaking beaches and views. Out from Florencia Bay was the Florencia Islet which looked like a great place to take a kayak for a day trip.
We camped in Ucluelet after a good meal at Hanks BBQ. Explored the Pacific Rim National Park again on Sunday before making the trek back to Nanaimo. On the way we stopped at the Taylor River falls to have a look at the raging river.
